Match Report by St@tto

Harriers winless start to the season now stands at eleven games after their latest disappointing defeat at Aggborough.

New singing Kevin Toner, on loan from Aston Villa, was brought in for his debut at left back while Jordan Tunnicliffe returned from injury in place of Lathaniel Rowe-Turner and Andre Wright came in for Tahvon Campbell as Harriers made change to the side that had drawn with Torquay last time out.

In the early stages Harriers were bright, although they could have fallen behind after just 15 seconds when an unmarked Jack Muldoon sent a glancing header from Bradley Wood's cross narrowly wide of the far post, with Wright looking a threat to the visitors.

After misses by Gurjit Singh and Reece Styche Wright went close to opening the scoring after being set up by Calvin Dinsley's through ball, firing across the face of goal from a narrow angle with a deflection giving Harriers a corner that came to nothing.

Against the run of play The Imps took the lead in the 21st minute; Muldoon made a good run on the right, beating Toner, his low cross towards the far post was met by Alan Power who despatched it sharply past Alex Palmer in the Harriers goal.

A couple of minutes later Wood should have doubled the City lead with a header from a right wing corner but Kelvin Langmead was on hand to clear off the line.  The second goal was not long in coming, though, as two minutes later Palmer was unable to keep hold of a header from Luke Waterfall and Muldoon was on hand to fire the loose ball home.

After having looked the better side for the opening 20 minutes Harriers now looked a shambles and were completely out of the game.  City defender Chris Bush nearly embarrassed them further five minutes before the break when his clearance from inside his own half beat Palmer but went wide.

The second half was a poor spectacle with neither goalkeeper being tested.  The best chance came to the visitors with fifteen minutes still to play, Terry Hawkridge's ball in from the left was helped on by Connor Robinson to Matt Rhead who blasted the ball over the bar with the goal at his mercy.

Harriers finally managed their first shot on target seven minutes from the end when Campbell's corner was met by Langmead but Craig Stanley was on hand to clear his header off the line.  In the last minute Campbell made a good run on the left but his cross was headed high and wide by substitute Jamie Spencer.
