Match Report by St@tto

Harriers dominated possession but lacked the attacking spark to break down a resolute Telford defence at The New Bucks Head.

Ashley Carter was brought straight back into the side after missing three games through suspension, taking the place of James McQuilkin who began a one-game ban.

Harriers edged the early exchanges as both teams pressed for an opening but didn't really test James Montgomery in the United goal; the closest that they came was Tyrell Waite's wayward cross from the right that almost caught him out.

Midway through the half Mani Dieseruvwe went close to opening the deadlock but his header from Waite's cross went wide. Moments later Telford, including former Harrier Callum Gittings, took the lead against the run of play; Micah Evans cutting in from the left and sending a low shot to the far corner that took a deflection to help it past Sam Hornby

Poor finishing, when they did break through the Telford back line, was to cost Harriers dear.  Both Arthur Gnahoua, from a free-kick, and Elton Ngwatala wasted good opportunities but fired wildly over the bar.

Early in the second half Liam Trusove, on for Carter, split the United defence wide open with a pass that was just out of the reach of Waite who was slow to react to it.  Harriers did get the ball in the net halfway through the second period but Truslove's effort was ruled out for offside after the ball had fallen to him when Dieseruvwe's shot was parried by Montgomery.

Harriers pressed and pressed for an equaliser but were guilty of over complicating things, their possession play allowing the home team to get masses of bodies behind the ball making it near impossible for Harriers to get a clear sight of goal.

Substitute Andre Brown was also guilty of wasteful finishing, blasting a free-kick from the edge of the penalty area high over the bar and into the roof of the stand.

It was not to be Harriers' night, though, and they slumped to just their second defeat of the season and slipped down the league to the depths of sixth place.
